Prior to this activity, the only software tool that I have used is PD 360. It is a website that our school uses to educate and inform the teachers and staff on the different types of teaching tools and strategies that can be used in the classroom.
I do plan on managing the news resource that I have gathered because I find it to be a great learning tool for myself.
I do think that a refined personal learning network is a great value to a new teacher because it allows them the necessary tools needed to succeed within their years of teaching.

Task_3-Reflection

I feel like I could have contributed more to my group. The only person in my group that I was really able to communicate with was Paul. Otherwise, I think our group was pretty successful in the sense that we were able to communicate and share ideas through emails.

Task 2_Deliverable
1.) Having completed this review of a web 2.0 tool would you use this tool in your classroom?
Yes, I would use the Tutorials and Drill-And-Practice in my classroom. This is a great type of academic software to have for the students because it allows them to practice drills at their own pace and it also allows them to see where they need help in certain subject areas.
2.) Prior to this activity, how did you typically select website or tools to use?
Prior to this activity, I would select websites or tools to use by using the internet. I would look at the different websites and tools and research the ones that I thought would be the best for the students to use.
3.) Do you have any ideas, comments, or feedback on improving the web 2.0 tool selection process?
Ths only idea that I have to improve the selection process would be to have a forum that teachers can leave feedback on with their thoughts on the web tools that they have used and selected.

It is important to use teams in project based learning because it allows each member to come up with different ideas and suggestions. Also, the group can work together to discuss different topics related to project based learning and focus on the important aspects of what really needs to be discussed.
2.) What are some of the problems you see in student teams?
When student teams are established, many problems will arise. For example, if one or more of the members on your team doesn't put forth the work that needs to be done on their part, the entire student team suffers because of this one person or others. Also, especially for an online course, it is really difficult to have established student teams. I am only saying this because I work full-time all week and it is quite difficult to try to get all of the student team members to meet at a specific location and time. I find that individual work is probably best for online classes where as student teams would probably be best in a classroom setting where that can meet on a daily basis face-to-face.

My favorite technology gadget would have to be my ipad. I was always a non-believer of any product having to do with Apple but I have changed my mind since I now have an ipad! I love the convenience and portability of the ipad. It does everything that I need to do and it is just great overall!
My work style is very prompt and organized. I like to get things done in an orderly fashion within a reasonable amount of time. My two skills or traits would have to be that I am super organized and that I work well with others in a group setting.
